This morning, BuzzFeed is featuring a story from Project Unbreakable (website/Tumblr), who work with survivors of sexual assault, photographing them holding a poster with a quote from their attacker. Today’s unique story uncovered stories from men who have been assaulted, and touches base on some of the stigmas surrounding men and sex, with quotes from attackers such as “Don’t worry, boys are supposed to like this,” and “You’re a guy, you can’t say no to a girl like me.”, as well as many threats to hurt loved ones. Many people still don’t realize that yes, man CAN and ARE victims of sexual abuse, not only from women but from fellow men, and that it is not made any less traumatizing for a man simply because he is a man, and saying things like “man up” does nothing except further dehumanize and hurt the victim. There is, if possible, even more blame put on a male victim of sexual abuse than female because people assume that all men want sex, from any person, at any time. Stop this. Stop the abuse of ANYBODY, stop victim blaming, and stop telling male abuse survivors that men being raped “isn’t a real thing.” You can read the full story and see the rest of the pictures here.

SIGNAL BOOST. Keep reblogging. This could save my life.
Hello beauties.
I have had Chronic Lyme Disease for 10 years now and I’m only 21. It’s a truly debilitating disease and I’ve been going through hell for 10 years. I’m only getting worse and basically slowly dying.
I found this treatment center that specializes in Chronic Lyme only 30 minutes from me. The catch is, its a crap load of money. Of course, right? :P
If the peoples of the internet unite and all donate a dollar, I can easily raise the 34,500 I need to go and get healthy!
I do not even have a memory of what it is like to be healthy because I was infected at such a young age. Please help me so I can understand what it feels like to be normal. So I can go on to live an actual life. The suffering is immense and I cannot do this much longer.
So please, share this and if you can donate a dollar!

Hey lovelies, signal boost?

I donated my dollar. why doesn’t everyone who rebloggs this just give a dollar? she’s be past her goal by now. It’s a dollar, a pack of gum costs more. This is a life we’re talking about.

not everyone has a way to donate. much like myself some do not have access to a credit card and we cant exactly shove a five dollar bill into the cd drive. the only real thing people like myself can do is reblog and hope that people who are able to donate will see this and pick up the slack.

That last comment. Thank you.

As a Lyme patient myself, I am begging my friends and followers to donate what you can, and if you can’t donate, to reblog this and get the word out so that other people who are able to donate may do so. I can’t express in words how horrible and painful Lyme Disease can be. It drains everything from you - your energy, your health, your happiness, your money - and it can be nearly impossible to cure, or to get back even a fraction of your original quality of living. Please. Please. If you can, help the OP out. It would mean a lot to me, because I know what she’s going through and I really wish that she didn’t have to go through it.

These men are sex offenders.

Jesse, Jason and Kong (no last names available) run a Youtube channel called “Simple Pickup” which supposedly instructs the viewer how to ‘pick up’ girls. In reality, the channel is a guide to street harassment.

They harass numerous girls in their videos and encourage their male viewers to do the same thing. They sexually humiliate women by ambushing them on the street and saying hideously inappropriate things, like "do you shave your vagina?" or “your nipples are obviously pierced” .

They touch girls without permission, even fondle their breasts without consent. In one video, a girl tries to get away from being touched, and then gets so scared, she calls to two other strangers for help.

Two of these men are trying to get citizenship. They live in california. If you live in California, report them. It doesn’t matter whether or not you think it will ‘do’ anything these men have committed sex offences and deserve to have their names dragged through the mud, not celebrated for their victimisation of women.

why does this only have 16 notes

i’m gonna take a flight to california and fucking shove spiked cleats up their asses

hey! i just emailed the USC police department to be on the lookout for these men. they clearly harass women at USC. you should do the same so USC police dont ignore this.

http://capsnet.usc.edu/department/department-public-safety/online-forms/contact-us

spread these videos and this post to your USC friends.

Fucking entitled douchebags.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK HOW DO YOU RUN A YOUTUBE CHANNEL LIKE THIS THIS IS GROSS WTF.

ugh

I watched one of their videos andddd now I’m going to throw up. Neat.

(PS. they took down the video that was circulating around Tumblr, but their youtube page is still up, which I’ll link).

I was thinking about something a lot after watching the video mentioned above. So many girls were trying to be polite to these guys while they were being sexually harassed. And I think that’s really has to do a lot with how women are raised. We’re raised to be “polite” and “lady-like” and we are generally taught not to be direct with someone for fear of looking “bitchy” and it’s really sad. Even when put into a potentially harmful situation (which these guys to do women on a normal basis) we sit there and go “uhhh, could you not touch me please?”and smile and giggle and try to come off polite when we really want to tell them to back the fuck off. There was one part in the video, where a girl was sunbathing and lying on her stomach and the guy literally sits on her and starts rubbing her back. I was expecting her the most to scream or yell or cuss at the guy, but she didn’t and just tried to ignore him. And that particular one horrified me the most (and made me the most nauseous).

Unfortunately, I think that’s why these guys don’t see what they are doing as harmful, because there’s no real downfall for them. The girls might ask them not to touch them but they’ll do it all while smiling and giggling. And idiots like them just don’t see that these girls are uncomfortable. Even when the girls give their numbers to them, you can sense that they’re uncomfortable; they’re just doing it so the guy will leave them alone.

And yes, if these boys were raised to respect women or just other human beings properly, then they wouldn’t do this sort of shit. And that’s where the issue needs to be fixed ultimately. But, in the mean time, we really need to speak up and stick up for ourselves. If someone does something like this to you, please make a scene, show them that it’s not okay.

Ps. can I also mention how happy it made me to see those two guys help the girl (in the last pic). She didn’t even really say anything (she sort of squeaked out a small “I dont know this guy”) but the guy’s could tell that she was really uncomfortable and came to her rescue. We also need more of that.

Can this get a little more attention, these guys (and all of their ilk) need beat with a stick. Badly.

You know how people buy drinks for girls in bars? Why can’t people do that in book stores? Like if I’m looking at a novel in Barnes and Noble and some person walks up to me and strikes up a conversation and offers to buy the book for me there is a lot better chance of that working out in their favor

I’m going to reblog this until it’s a cultural norm.

I will help you with that.

This needs to be a thing.

This one time in 6th grade these three girls would bully me and call me a faggot so instead of just taking it I put cigarettes in all of their purses and went to the counselor fake crying saying I was “worried about my friends dying of cancer” and they all got suspended and two of them got pulled out of the school by their moms
